Project Manager.
As a project manager, one is a professional who plans organizes, and executes the project, while working with stakeholders and constraints like budgets and schedules.
A project manager will be responsible for delivering a project on time. The project manager will run the project on day to day basis and will have a project team from the authority of the project board.
A PMP Certification would be needed for a Project Manager at the least, but an MBA in Project Management helps and in the process of finishing my MBA in Project Management from Columbia Southern University with two final courses left.
In a project manager's life, no day is the same, all days are different some may be more challenging than others. University education gives you a lot of skills to solve problems and some skills are picked up at the job or project side. One tries to get better with time so as to do the same thing over and over again.
5 Things the Project Manager needs to focus on are:-
1. Planning
2. Executing
3. Monitoring
4. Controlling
5. Finishing the Projects.
A bachelor's degree in project management is sufficient to bring any person speed. There are many specialized courses in project management that one can take. Normally project managers work more than 40 hours a week.
As an Agile project manager, I have created a niche for myself in the market. Many companies are growing here in the bay area and those companies will be needed or are in need of project managers to take their companies to the next step. He will try to see the whole picture as to where the company is or where it needs to be or for anything to be done or can happen for the company he will try to make the user experience friendly.
A project manager can use Agile or Water Fall methodologies to help guide him through the process of project management.
First stages of the project the project manager gets a brief description of the project, and from there he can create a rough draft of the timeline. Here he will get an idea of how many people will be involved, who is responsible for what, and what needs to be done within a certain time and date. He will need to have a clear communication channel with his team members so can understand how and when to communicate with them in regards to the project.
Planning for successful outcomes will be in part due to proper communication, with correct timelines. The timeline will help in the success of the completion of the project and will keep everyone in check.
The project manager will have to follow up on the deliverables as far as deadlines are concerned he would need to be on top of them. If a team is slacking then it is the project manager's job to provide them with the extra help so the project stays on track to completion. The project manager will need to keep the lines for communication open and clear so everyone understands what their role is in the project and when to complete the project.
When the team members call in sick, or the vendor does not have the product and it will not be delivered on time also that would no doubt delay the project it is the project manager's job to approach the natural disaster and common occurrences with the cool mindset and to come up with the plan to compensate. The project manager will need to use his skill sets.
